In the current climate, supply chain security can be a major concern for manufacturers, especially if components are being shipped halfway around the world. The uncertainty, together with cost, carbon footprint and cash tied up in long transit times, is causing many companies to rethink their supply chains. Over the last 12 months we have been helping more and more customers to either relocate their injection moulding tools and production back to the UK or create a second line of tools and manufacturing to dual source. In our experience sometimes this can be achieved without increasing the unit cost.
The contract moulding arm of Clamcleats Ltd manufactures moulded and cast components for some of the leading brands at our Welwyn Garden City HQ in the UK. Our services range from tool layout and design, through production, second ops and printing. For more information about this service please contact plasticmoulding.co.uk/

RAD Propulsion’s RAD 40 is a radically different electric outboard delivering 40kW of continuous power. Its compact design ensures the entire outboard remains behind the transom and does not intrude into the vessel’s deck space. It delivers exceptional control and manoeuvrability with full drive-by-wire controls and 180 degrees of steering, making it incredibly easy to dock.
Clamcleats Ltd services include product design and development, tool design and manufacturing through to component moulding. We are very pleased to have been involved with the translucent motor, throttle housing and other components on the RAD 40.
The new Pulse 63 RIB from RS Electric Boats has also been designed and developed around the RAD 40 giving it a top speed of 23 Knots and a range of up to 100 nautical miles.

As part of Clamcleats Ltd carbon reduction program we are helping to restock 10 hectares of woodland in Leicestershire. The trees will include a lot of native species including Hawthorn, Hazel, Hornbeam, Oak, Silver Birch, and Sycamore, which will help to create the perfect habitat for local wildlife. The site also will have public access and can be enjoyed by everybody as it develops into a mature woodland.
Also working closely with carbon and sustainability experts Redshaw Advisors, and using several projects around the world, both from Verra Registry, Clamcleats Ltd has successfully compensated for the equivalent of its total operational carbon footprint, placing it in an operational carbon neutral position.“

Clamcleats Ltd is proud to be a day sponsor at the 26th Albacore Internationals at the South Caernarvonshire Yacht Club on the 30th July to the 4th August 2023. The Albacore is a popular 2 person dinghy which was designed back in 1954. There are a variety of cleats on board including the CL257 Auto-Release cleat which prevents damage to the rudder or dagger plate if you hit an underwater obstruction, plus the CL211 Mk2AN which can be used for several halyards etc. onboard. We have also developed a Keeper and Cage to upgrade your CL211 Mk2AN retrospectively. The keeper CL815 allows the rope to run freely if out of the cleat and keeps the rope engaged if in the cleat. The rear fairlead of the Cage CL817 allows you to both tension and release the rope at an angle.
