Clamcleats Ltd has expanded its insert cleat range to 8 styles, allowing designers to press-fit high-strength aluminium cleats directly into custom-moulded plastic housings for compact cord management. New Insert Cleat Models CL718: Optimized for 2–4mm line CL721: Optimized for 2mm line CL724: Optimized for 1mm line The 3 new insert cleats combine the durability and holding power of aluminium teeth with the low weight of a plastic outer structure. They are designed to push-fit straight into a pre-moulded cavity after plastic injection or fabrication. This enables space saving within the product and will works down to 1mm cords in extremely tight or low-profile enclosures.

Anna Burnet and John Gimson are among Great Britain’s most decorated mixed multihull sailors, having established themselves as a dominant force in the Nacra 17 class. The Olympic silver medalists (Tokyo 2020) and multi-time World Champions have consistently defined elite performance on the water—most recently competing at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games before celebrating their marriage later that year. Over the past few years, Anna and John have worked closely with us to develop and test the new CL290 Titanium Trapeze Cleat, which is now in full production. Engineered from titanium with no moving parts, this aerodynamic, ultralight cleat weighs just 21g and measures only 46mm in length—slashing both size and weight by nearly 50% compared to conventional trapeze cleats.

The 21-boat Nacra 17 fleet raced a nine-race series with one discard. Due to a lack of wind, no final series was held. John and Anna dominated from the start. By the midpoint of the regatta, they had secured four race wins and a ten-point lead, never looking back. “We are really happy to take the win at Kiel Week. We had plenty of light winds, which meant a lot of movement on the trapeze. It was exciting to be racing with the new titanium cleats—they're beautifully smooth to use and perfect for keeping the drag and weight down,” explained Anna Burnet, who, along with John Gimson, was the driving force behind developing the new CL290 Titanium Trapeze cleat. Engineered from titanium with no moving parts, this aerodynamic, lightweight trapeze cleat weighs only 21g and is just 46mm in length—reducing its size and weight by nearly 50% compared to conventional trapeze cleats. Designed for use with composite trapeze lines, the top section's halo ring design allows for extra grip, meaning sailors with strong hands may not even need the low-profile aerodynamic handle. For sailors who require extra surface area for a secure two-finger grip during constant adjustments, ergonomic handles are available. Aerodynamics were a critical part of the design, specifically optimizing airflow across both the side of the cleat when trapezing and the back of the cleat on the leeward side.

The adjustable harness line CL289Kit/R features two wrap-around webbing straps: one with a tube-covered rope loop and another with an aluminium insert cleat for easy height adjustment. The design transfers the wing's load through your body core, reducing arm fatigue, whilst the cleat's position minimizes damage risk during wipe-outs. The cleat's moulded body ensures minimal weight with aluminium insert teeth to maximise load capacity and wear resistance. This retail kit has 100% recyclable packaging, which also allows the user to see how it is rigged before they buy.

Ocean Bound Plastic (OBP) is abandoned plastic waste within 50 km of coastlines or waterways in areas with poor waste management. It accounts for about 80% of plastic marine litter and poses a high risk of entering the ocean.. OBP is collected and recycled into usable material. The PT418 clamp for bottom lid recycling bags from Clamcleat® Rope Cleats now features a stainless steel double loop 'R' clip, replacing the spring pin. This clip is secured to the main body with a blue lanyard. Available now. The CL244/S9 clamp-on tube cleat fits 24 to 27mm tubes (1" tubes), perfect for Wingfoiling handle grips. It's easy to fit and features a strong aluminium cleat in a nylon clamp, secured by screws. A rubber friction packer ensures a firm grip and accommodates slight variations in tube diameter and oval tubes. Available in Silver or Hard coat finish, this addition expands the range to fit tube diameters from 24mm to 43mm.
