Inside the Trapeze Cleat Built for Champions: Anna Burnet & John Gimson on the CL290 Titanium option

Anna Burnet and John Gimson are among Great Britain’s most decorated mixed multihull sailors, having established themselves as a dominant force in the Nacra 17 class. The Olympic silver medalists (Tokyo 2020) and multi-time World Champions have consistently defined elite performance on the water—most recently competing at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games before celebrating their marriage later that year. Over the past few years, Anna and John have worked closely with us to develop and test the new CL290 Titanium Trapeze Cleat, which is now in full production. Engineered from titanium with no moving parts, this aerodynamic, ultralight cleat weighs just 21g and measures only 46mm in length—slashing both size and weight by nearly 50% compared to conventional trapeze cleats.
