Carbon Race Bars
Carbon race bars are growing in popularity within the kite market, allowing riders to reduce the overall weight of the rig. From branded bar manufacturers to DIY enthusiasts, the CL828-68AN cleat and PT5107 ring offer a desirable solution in a growing area of the kite market. SK Shapes have used the aero cleat for adjusting the power line and the PT5107 instead of a pulley at the top of the cascade system.
Julian Daly from New Zealand created his own bespoke kite surf bar and chose to use the cleat in the same way. However, he embedded the PT5107 ring using epoxy (and micro balloons) into the bar centre to give a hardwearing and low friction guide for the centre line to able to slide through. Because of the rings outside shape, there is no chance of it breaking free of the epoxy under load.
