COBRA CLEAT IS FIRST PURPOSED-DESIGNED CLEAT FOR TENSIONING KITE SURF BRAKE LINES
The Clamcleat® CL264 Cobra cleat is the first purpose-designed cleat for tensioning kitesurf brake lines. Clamcleats Limited has used its design expertise and experience, with that of leading kitesurfers, to produce a brake line cleat that outperforms all other devices currently available.
The cleat has been designed to be snag free and to stay in line. The square shape of the attachment holes, in combination with the use of larkshead knots to attach the brake line, prevent the cleat from twisting. This ensures that the cleat is always in the correct position for quick and easy adjustment. The design of the cleat‘s teeth provides maximum grip with easy release characteristsics which are essential for micro adjustment of the brake line, both in and out.
The cleat is made from a lightweight cast alloy and tests show that the design of the Cobra will last longer than any other cleat on the market. It is designed for ropes of 4 to 6mm diameter and optimum performance will be achieved with 6mm, 16 plait rope. The cleat is available in silver or hard anodised dark grey.
Flexifoil, one of the UK‘s most experienced designers and manufacturers of performance land and water kites, is to use the Cobra cleat on the brake line of its 2003 model Storm kite.
