Increase your pulling power

As ropes and control lines on racing dinghies, catamarans and sailing boats get thinner, they are that much more painful to pull really hard when tensioning the rig or, for example, the trampoline of a catamaran. The latest Power Grip cleats allow you to pull a rope harder, without pain. No more sore hands. You can also release loaded lines safely and under control, particularly when taking the tension off the rig at the end of a day's sailing. Tests have shown that by using a Clamcleat® CL262 Power Grip 2, it is possible to pull a rope of 3mm to 6mm diameter up to four times as hard, compared to using your bare hands. The cleat is quick and easy to rig, even very close to a fitting. Releasing the Power Grip is just as easy: simply spin it through 90º and pull it off the rope. The Power Grip cleat is also available for use with one hand: the CL261 Power Grip 1. This cleat will help you to pull a rope twice as hard as with a bare hand. It is ideal for use when less pulling power is needed. Junior sailors are likely to find the answer to tensioning and releasing rigs more easily and with less discomfort to smaller hands. https://www.clamcleat.com/uploads/zip_files/Pulling_Sail.zip
