Setting up and tensioning guy lines on mobile antenna masts can be done easily and securely with Clamcleat® CL260 Line-Lok® guy runners. They provide a high performance method of tensioning guy ropes from 2mm (0.07”) to 5mm (0.19”) in diameter.
The cleats use advanced tooth technology to grip guy lines so that they do not shake lose or slip in high winds. They were designed originally for use on mountain tents to provide a securer guy line in blizzard conditions. Recently they have been used on mobile special forces’ antennae. Guy ropes are tensioned by simply pushing the Line-Lok® up the rope and are released by pulling the two lines apart.
Clamcleat® Line-Lok® guy line runners are available in different colours and a range of pack sizes which can be bought on-line at www.cleats.co.uk. There is also a “glow-in-the-dark” version which will help reduce the chances of people tripping over guy ropes in the dark.
Guy lines for larger masts, with thicker guy lines, can be set-up with CL223 Loop cleat. These cleats can be used with ropes of between 3mm and 6mm in diameter.
