CL285 Racing Aero cleat (Mk2 style)

The Clamcleat® CL285 is an all aluminium cleat that is rigged on a rope. It is easy to rig and adjust. The position of the cleat on the rope can be adjusted by hand. No tools required.

Perfect for use on kitesurf brake lines, trim liness and adjuster lines, using a 6mm rope.  The CL285 is suitable for the heaviest kiter. We always advise fitting a PT524 or PT525 stopper ball on the brake line. This was designed to absorb shock, and avoid damage between the Cleat and the bar, if the bar is released abruptly in difficult conditions and hits hard against the base of the cleat.

It is also ideal for higher loads on guy lines for tents, canvas structures, radio masts and aerials.  Suitable for use at extreme temperatures, from -40°c to +40°C (-40°F to 100°F)

The Clamcleat® CL285 can be rigged with a 2:1 advantage, or without a tail, or to make a loop.  It is ideal for use with 5mm or 6mm (3/16" - 1/4") ropes, but can be rigged with 4mm rope by taking an extra turn around the central pillar.

For lighter loads consider the CL826-11, for a 2:1 ratio.  
Alternatively, the CL826-11/S2 can be rigged for a 4:1 ratio.
