Clamcleats Ltd products used on re-launched Vortex dinghy!
- 18 Aug 2016
A surprise for many visitors to the vortex Stand at this year’s RYA Dinghy Show was that this exciting single-handed is being re-launched. After the previous builder has destroyed the moulds for the hull, the class association has financed the construction of new moulds. The opportunity was taken to re-engineer some of the internal structure of the hull which has made the new boats even stronger than the originals.
The class also took the opportunity to reduce the all-up weight by 11kg, which has improved the handling characteristics in both strong and light winds.
The CL211MK2 is located on the boom of this dinghy. It is a neat, compact alloy cleat, manufactured from aluminium for light weight and durable performance.
The CL253 is the Sailor’s preferred choice for adjusting trapeze lines. This cleat has an in-built pulley that offers a compact solution. It is used on the trapeze of this dinghy
The CL211MK1 a very strong alloy cleat. The fair-lead guides the rope into the teeth, ideal for control lines on racing dinghies. This cleat is being used on the mast of the Vortex dinghy.
