The Cage, Clamcleats Limited’s latest accessory, allows ropes to be cleated and uncleated at an angle of up to 70 degrees, rather than only in line with the cleat. It is the latest in the range of accessories which further enhance the performance of the company’s most popular rope cleats.
Adding Cages to cleats fitted with Keepers will allow the helmsman or crew to adjust a control line from different positions quickly, easily, positively and without fear of accidental cleating. As with all Clamcleat® products, there are no moving parts to wear out or seize and they are also excellent value for money.
The Cage is moulded in high performance composite plastic with marine grade stainless steel bearing surfaces for maximum strength and long life. Cages can be fitted easily to cleats with Keepers and are available in two sizes - CL816 and CL 817 - to suit popular cleats including the CL211 Mk1, CL203 Junior, CL236 Racing Junior with roller fairlead and Mk2 Racing Junior.
Extensive use has been made of the latest computer-aided design and modelling techniques in the development of the Cage. It has been tested rigorously on a range of racing dinghies from the International Moth up to Flying Dutchmen.
