CL276 Line-Lok® in extreme conditions

Jon Hearn from Sled Monkey uses our CL276 Line-Lok® cleat to tension the Dyneema lines which hold the stanchions in place on this amazing new type of steering sled for long distance dog sled racing. What an amazing sled which ensures the safety of the driver and the team of dogs. This is definitely extreme CLEATING.

OVANO amazing way to fit out your VW transporter and turn it into a weekender with the most versatile bed, bulkhead and storage unit on the market

We've produced around 300 units this year and the CL202 cleat holds an 18mm bulkhead up vertically, which creates a large area for storage above our drawer system, making the transporter work for you during the week and at the weekend" said Josh We currently have 3 in the team, me, my Dad (Nick) and my partner (Sarah). We have been calling in self employed friends for ad-hoc extra days to help deal with demand. Our plans for the near future include a few more variations of the same product, as well as some additional extras and add-on's to go along with the lifestyle.

Launch 150mm 6" inspection access hatch  in winch handle socket and finger recess version

We are proud to launch our 150mm 6” inspection access hatch in both white and black. Our stylish design with slotted covered fixing ensures the lines of the yacht are not compromised without effecting the performance of the cover. Manufactured from ASA Polymer which is resistant to Acetone, UV, weather and colour fading and has been specially formulated for the marine and automotive industry. We have 2 versions available in white. The generous finger recess cover and the winch handle socket version allows for easy opening and closing even in extreme conditions. The cover comes compete with an EPDM UV resistant “O” ring seal and the deck ring has been designed with deep ribs where it comes into contact with the deck which allows plenty of sealant to create a positive watertight seal between the ring and the deck.

Radio mast guyline tensioning reel in full production

The tensioning reel allows guylines on larger portable radio masts to be quickly and easily tensioned and released. The PT300771 is impact resistant, corrosion proof and weather proof. The reel is fitted with a CL211 Mk1 cleat, which automatically grips the rope when tensioning. Easy to use, even when wearing thick gloves in sub-zero conditions. Just push the reel up the guyline to tension and pull the rope towards the handle to release. The reel both stores the rope and allows you to adjust the guyline length when setting up the mast.

Fitting cleats to Carbon fibre mast and spar

Carbon fibre, Stainless steel and Aluminum are dissimilar compounds and if bolted together without using an inhibitor between them the Carbon fibre and Aluminum will slowly degrade. This is called electrolytic de-composition, and this is the same problem as when using Stainless steel fastenings on aluminum spars etc. Important note- most mast manufactures would not recommend you drill any holes in your mast or spar but this is not practical for most sailors these days. There are a lot of opinions out there on the forums etc. and different methods of attaching our products. Using a dissimilar material bonding adhesive like Plexus is popular. We recommend leaving this to the experts because, if not completed correctly this could lead to damage to the structural strength of your spars. So, after taking advice from several carbon fibre spar manufactures, this is what we would advise. 1/ Put masking tape on the spar, on the area where the cleat will be fitted. Mark out and tape the product into position and reeve the cleat to ensure it is in the correct place. Go through all the scenarios that you would use the cleat for, again, to ensure it is in the best position.   2/ Drill the holes using a sharp drill bit without applying to much pressure as this can create a problem when the drill bit breaks through the inner surface. Too much pressure can damage the inside of the hole and the fibre weave.   3/ Create a plastic backing pad to go between the aluminum cleat and the carbon fibre (the retail card the cleat comes on is ideal) or a thin piece of plastic shaped to the cleat, drilled with the 2 fixing holes. Also make 2 x plastic washers the same size or larger than the 2 x S/S washers you will use to secure the cleat. A paper hole punch works well to punch out the centre holes. 4/... Sun Protection Cleats

We produce a range of cleats for use in sun protection systems, Sunshades, Sun sails, Awnings and larger umbrellas and are ideal for use in both the northern and southern hemisphere. Cleats can be used with Aluminium and Carbon Fibre Poles where the rope runs internally or externally, or be wall mounted. Our cleats are the ideal solution for tensioning and adjusting the canvas canopy and the Power Grip cleats allow for greater and controlled higher loads whilst using smaller ropes. Our CL257Auto Release cleat allows you to set your maximum load to avoid damaging the canvas canopy during extreme weather conditions.

In-house 3D modelling service

We can now offer an in-house 3D modelling service to our customers to assist with product development. This service allows for a rapid visual response for our customers before entering into modifying or producing new tooling.

Supply chain lack of base nylons

As I am sure you are aware, due to Covid restriction and the uncertainty around Brexit, there are certain grades of nylon base material where the production has been scaled back over the last 12 months. This is starting to have an effect on the supply chain. Our stocks are OK for now, but we are starting to hear of concerns within the industry. Manufacturers are starting to scale up production again. We are doing everything to overcome this situation and will keep you posted. We have committed to over 6 months of raw aluminium stock to ensure our alloy cleats are always available. For now, we would advise, wherever possible, to use the aluminium version of a cleat. We, of course, will keep you up to date with the situation.

Lazy Jacks for Dinghies and Yachts up to 8.5m

This very simple and cost-effective way of combining our CL211MK2/S2 fairlead cleat with becket, together with 2 x PT5110 Titanium thimbles, to create a 2 point (each side) or 3 point (using 4 x PT5110) Lazy Jack System for 6mm line. Slacken whilst sailing and tighten just before you want to drop the mainsail (ensure topping lift is also tightened) by only needing to adjust one line. The Lazy Jack system keeps the sail tidy, secure and off the deck. This gives you the full visibility and control whilst you are mooring or coming along side. Once moored simple flank and tie down your mainsail as normal.
